acquires Sumit Mishra’s short film based on Amrita Pritam

There has been lot of buzz around films made on the life and times of the poetess Amrita Pritam. While the feature film is yet to see light of day, a short film titled ‘Amrita & I’, based on her life, has been picked up by  The short film is directed by Sumit Mishra and is a love story between a painter, Imroz and the poetess Amrita.

Amrita Pritam was a poet born in August 1919. Her work is considered to be the epitome of prose criticising violence against women. Her most noted work in Pinjar, which was later adapted into a film, titled ‘Pinjar’, in 2003.

Muvizz is a VoD platform that has earlier produced the films ‘Taandav’ and ‘Kriti’, which were later streamed on YouTube.  Muvizz will also distribute this film on other streaming platforms.
