Since the news of Bollywood actress Sridevi passing away was made public, there have been several media houses who have gone beyond the so-called journalism standards and stooped lower than they ever have. Some started talking about how Sridevi’s death was a murder case, while many journalists sleeping in a bath tub to ‘enlighten the audiences’ on how one feels while dying in a bathtub (whatever that means).
People have endured maddening social media coverage of Sridevi’s death and apart from that there are many other maddening videos and other memes that the audiences have to bear with throughout the day. Taking cognizance of the recent turn of events, Mostly Sane aka Prajakta Koli put out a video – Shame On Us – asking people to report any misleading, false information on YouTube.
Talking at length about how disturbed/affected she was with the YouTube videos, she points out that not just the content aggregators, but also the audiences who use the YouTube services should also make sure that the platform is devoid of any ill content.
