Michael Jordan documentary to come on Netflix and ESPN

Michael Jordan is one of the few towering personalities in sports and entertainment. Now, his story has been picked by Netflix and ESPN for a series ‘The Last Dance’. the series will feature previously unseen footage from the Chicago Bulls’ last championship run in 1997-1998. The documentary will feature many other sports luminaries.

Sports documentaries and documentaries in general are making a big splash on the streaming platforms. Netflix has been doing crime and criminal documentaries since a while and this is one of the few sport documentaries that will stream on the Big N.  In the meantime, the streaming channels are looking at creating more and more sports based content, including live coverage of games.

Micharl Jordon began his career in 1982 and was instrumental in making basketball famous in the country. NBA considers Jordon to be the greatest basketball player of all time. He was famous for his leaping slam dunks, which earned him the nickname His Airness and Air Jordan.  That nickname was also the official name for Air Jordan, the shoe brand from Nike, which were introduced in 1985.

The series will premiere on Netflix and ESPN next year.
