Everyone wants a forever love story. In fact, the love stories of yore used to have the ending that went ‘and they lived happily ever after, forever’. But Amazon Prime’s new web series seeks to take a deeper look at the concept of ever after love, with their web series, Forever. Maya Rudolph and Fred Armisen play a much-married couple who seem to be stuck in the rigmarole of an everyday life – but the decide to change it all and starting the change by going to a ski trip.
The trailer is quite different, and shows the couple do what people do every day, go for walks, set up the kitchen, go for dinner dates, so on and so forth. Emmy Award Winners Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard create the series.
Amazon Prime is fast becoming the home to romantic dramedies and is pushing its original content. Other than blockbuster, indie films and TV content that’s now going streaming, Amazon Prime is quickly created an original content library that’s as diverse as its entertaining. This is the first major role in a web series for Maya Rudolph. Other than Fred Armisen, the series has recurring roles played by Catherine Keener, Noah Robbins and Kym Whitley.
Forever is set to stream on September 14.
