Steven Avery might be the most famous prisoner currently. He was the subject of the 2016 series, Making a Murderer, which revealed how he was effectively made a scapegoat in a 1985 murder case and was released only in 2003.
However, he later was arrested for the murder of Teresa Halbach and that case is still going on. The second season will talk about the legal processes from 2015 and the repercussions that it has had on the Avery family.
Steven Avery first gained popularity when his guilty verdict was overturned after more than 20 years in prison. However, Steven’s legal issues aren’t over, as he has been arrested on the charges of killing another young woman and is now in prison, even though he won a litigation worth more than $30 million dollars against the authorities.
Making a Murderer is effectively Netflix’s first blockbuster web series – a series that brought the name of Steven Avery and Netflix to everyone’s lips. With Making a Murderer, Netflix also tasted the success that a documentary about true crime could have with Making a Murderer.
The second season will premiere on October 19.
