We have seen coming of age films about men and some of the most sexually aware characters have been men. With the advent of streaming, more and more content creators are breaking barriers and clichés – and Netflix’s Lust Stories is bound to do just that. The trailer shows that this Netflix Original features some of the most talented actors in Bollywood.

So, you have Radhika Apte, Manisha Koirala, Jaideep Ahalwat, Sunjay Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Bhumi Pednekar, Kiara Advani, Akash Thoshar and others. The trailer suggests that the Netflix Original is about women and their love and lust stories – something that has rarely been explored by Bollywood.

This is an anthology of four short films, directed by the who’s who of Bollywood, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar and Dibakar Banerjee. This is the first time that any of these names are associating themselves with a streaming platform for such a major project.

Since last year, Netflix has several India centric films and projects lined up. It started out with India centric Originals, like Russel Peter’s Indian Detective and some other Hollywood produced films that had an Indian concept or plot point. A few months from now, Netflix will release its most ambitious India centric series, Sacred Games, which is based in the Mumbai underworld and stars Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddique and others.  See the trailer here:
