Junglee Pictures to adapt The Mahabharata Murders into a web series

Junglee Pictures is set to make its digital debut with web series adaptation of Arnab Ray’s novel, The Mahabharata Murders to be directed by Srijit Mukherji. Talking more about the series, Srijit said in an interaction that he communicated with Arnab over social media.

The 12-13 episode web series follows a female detective and her colleague as they hunt for a serial killer who believes that he is a reincarnation of Duryodhana, the Kaurava prince and wants to avenge by killing modern day Pandavas today. The book is divided into six chapters named after the five Pandavas and Draupadi. Each chapter will be adapted into two webisodes. The series will go by the second half of the year and mostly be shot in and around Kolkata, with one flashback sequence in Mumbai.

On The Bollywood front, the production house has produced the 2017 sleeper hit ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ based on the French novel Ingredients of Love. Apart from that, Junglee Pictures is also producing Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film Raazi. The trailer of this Alia Bhatt starrer has gained a lot of traction on the web. The film is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s ‘Calling Sehmat’.
