The six-episode web series It’s Not That Simple written by Charudutt Acharya and directed by Danish Aslam is coming back with a second season on Voot, again as Swara Bhaskar in the lead.

Those that have followed season one know that It’s Not That Simple is the story of Swara Bhaskar as Meera, who is trapped in an unhappy marriage with Jayesh portrayed by Karanveer Mehra. She meets her school friends Sameer and Rajiv at a reunion and a journey of self-discovery begins.

Swara Bhaskar, who was phenomenal in the critically-acclaimed Nil Batey Sannat and Anaarkali of Aarah is excited about season 2 whose premise revolves around the idea of marriage, relationships, love and extra-marital affairs just like in season 1. In fact, the director of Break Ke baad plans to shoot between June and August this year and take Meera’s character ahead in her journey.

“Swara isn’t shy of bold roles, and feels she is in a good place in her career, as she is being offered lead roles and important character roles in films as well as interesting subjects in web series,” a source said.

Voot, the streaming channel owned by film and television producer Viacom 18 has more than 10 million app downloads, over 15 million monthly active users across mobile and web with viewers spending 40 minutes on an average per day. The audience here will have access to Meera’s personal life which could lead them to confront the uncomfortable truths about modern marriages and relationships of themselves.

In the last season the show raised the issue about choices – an unhappy marriage or the perfect affair? We are waiting to know which self-introspecting question will be raised this season.
