Amazon Prime’s first Indian web series Inside Edge nominated for Emmy Awards

Amazon Prime’s first Indian web series, Inside Edge, has been nominated for the prestigious Emmy Awards. The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the nominations on Thursday. The ceremony will take place on November 19.  Inside Edge has been nominated in the Drama Category.

TheDigitalHash got in touch with Gurmeet Singh, one of the directors of the series, who had this to share:

“We are on location in Georgia filming for Inside Edge Season 2 and the entire cast and crew received the news of the International Emmy nomination and we are all very very thrilled! Big celebration is being planned by everyone here!”

Flora Saini, who played one of the integral characters in the series said:

“About time… such a happy n proud moment for all of us… I just can’t stop jumping with joy… everyone on the team specially excel, Karan Anshuman, Gurmeet they all deserve it for being such classy and wonderful people.”

Tanuj Virwani, who plays one of the characters in the series said:

It’s amazing. I couldn’t be any happier. It couldn’t have come at a better time. We are in Georgia, shooting the second season. The cast and crew were together last night, when we got to know that we have been nominated for the Emmys. I had not thought something like that will have happened. It’s a major confidence boost for us. It makes us guys work even harder and give a wonderful second season. It’s a special moment for me.

Inside Edge told the story of a new cricket team that’s trying to win a cricket championship. The show tackled the various controversies surrounding cricket, like the politics involved and the involvement of organised crime.
