The wicked, whacky comedy Insatiable has been renewed for a second season. The series has been controversial even before it hit the screens because of the subject matter and the character creation.

The series is about a woman who loses a lot of weight and then goes on to sign on for a pageant – and goes on to have a crush on her very older and very much married mentor. The series has garnered controversy because it comes across as a body shaming fat phobic series. Also, the screen play has a smattering of LGBTQ bashing and it even mocks sexual assault.
However, the show has become a success with audiences, who have connected with it as an intense, satirical look at various aspects of life, like young love and more importantly the world of pageants.
Insatiable is one of the few non-umbrella contents that’s over at Netflix and is soon becoming one of its more successful series. With Netflix paying more attention to non-franchise and non-action oriented web series like Insatiable, this can only be good news for the audience.
