Sex and the City is one of the most popular series to be ever aired. It started in the nineties and ran till 2004. The series spawned two films. The original book was first published in 1997 and then saw re-prints in 2001, 2006 and 2008.

Now, there’s buzz that a popular streaming service, one of the biggest, is planning to make an Indian web series on the lines of the popular television series.  According to sources, some popular actors in the web series space have been held script reading sessions too. It is unclear whether any actors are attached to the series. However, there are rumours that a director who has previously worked with the likes of Naseeruddin Shah and Kalki Koechlin has been roped in to direct this series. The director’s films have won awards at various Film Festivals too.

It will be interesting to see how the web series audience reacts to a romantic and intense sit-com.
