A couple of years ago, the Indian army came down heavily on terrorist hubs in Pakistan. Now, those incidents are coming to screen. It is unclear whether it will be turned into a web series or a TV series. Applause Entertainment has bought the rights to the first chapter of Sameer Nair’s India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes.

Author Sameer Nair said that he was quite excited about the collaboration and happy that the story was finally reaching the screens. He said that the series becomes more exciting and entertaining because it is based on the sole, authentic and first-hand account of what really happens because of his access to the Army officer who led the surgical strikes.

Even the Indian Army is all praise for the endeavour. The Indian Army Chief, Bipin Rawat that this tremendous tale of bravery is something that each Indian should know and remember – and be proud of.

The strikes became famous as the Surgical Strikes in Indian media. Pakistan attacked a military base in Uri in Jammu, and Indian forces retaliated with surgical strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan.  Irada Entertainment LLP is producing the series for Applause Entertainment. The hitherto unnamed series will launch sometime in 2018.

There are few army related fiction and nonfiction serials in India. One of the few was Param Veer Chakra, a series that ran on Doordarshan for quite some time. That series showed dramatized stories of army officers who were awarded the Param Veer Chakra. Post that, some fiction series have had army officers as protagonists and antagonists in TV serials.
