Hostages remake to star Tisca Chopra, Ronit Roy, Parvin Dabas

Popular Israeli TV series Hostages will soon be made for the Indian audiences. The web series will be directed by Sudhir Mishra, and will star Tisca Chopra, Ronit Roy and Parvin Dabas. It is being produced by Applause Entertainment, Aditya Birla Group’s studio.

The Israeli series focused on Yael Danon (Ayelet Zurer), a doctor who has to kill the country’s prime minister during a surgery after her family is held hostage. Besides the Indian adaptation, the series was also adapted for the American audiences in 2014.

The Indian adaptation is being shot currently and will also star Dalip Tahil, Sharad Joshi and Anangsha Biswas. For Sudhir Mishra this will be his first ever attempt at directing a web series. For Applause Entertainment though, they are also coming out with a number of digital titles which includes The Scam directed by Hansal Mehta, Indian remakes of BBC shows Criminal Justice and The Office, and Nagesh Kukunoor’s Mayanagari #CityofDreams.

Speaking about Hostages, Sameer Nair, CEO of Applause Entertainment, said in a press release, that Hostages is an enthralling and captivating concept, which will hook viewers. There is a clear demand for a show like this in the digital space.
