Haryana welcomes its first international short film fest.

Kurukshetra will host Haryana’s first International Film Festival. Spanning over four-days, the International Short Film Festival will be held from April 13 to 16.

A spokesperson said, “It is for the first time when an international short film festival is being organised in Haryana. The festival would provide an opportunity to the people to witness the confluence of languages of different countries in a single event.”

HISFF – Haryana International Short Film Festival is an initiative of HIFF Haryana International Film Festival which has completed its First edition. HISFF is first attempt towards the International recognition of Young Film Makers who have interest in Film-making. HISFF promises to make endeavour towards imparting a novel identity to the world cinema, through conducting Short film festivals in the cities of Haryana every year.

“Short films from Taiwan, Iran, Nepal, Spain and France among others, and movies in Haryanvi, Punjabi, Hindi, Marathi, Telegu, Bengali, Urdu and English languages will be screened during the festival.” The spokesperson added.

In addition, the festival will also feature concerts, gala events, film parties, seminars, workshops and networking opportunities with government representatives, business leaders, local organizations that support film development, film stars, producers, directors, members of the media and more.

There has been mention of screening predominantly art and culture based films on the Inaugural day. The festival would commence with the screening of Haryanvi film Lado Basanti.
