Applause Entertainment is all set to bring alive the 1992 securities scam involving Harshad Mehta through a 10 episode web-series titled The Scam. The series will be based on Sucheta Dalal and Debashis Basu’s book by the same name detailing the securities scam of 1992.
The multi-crore securities scam involving Harshad Mehta rocked the Bombay Stock Exchange and other stock exchanges in 1992. It was about irregularities in securities transactions and fund management by banks and other financial institutions.
An immediate bestseller after being published in April 1993, the book highlights the pervasive greed and misconduct of the financial world unearthed by Padma Shri award-winning journalist Sucheta Dalal. Converting this exposé into a visual format is going to make for a spellbinding story.
