Guneet Monga’s short film, Period: End of Sentence, has gone to the Oscars. The documentary short film is selected in the Documentary Short Subject Category at the 91st Academy Awards. Rakya Zehtabchi has directed the film, which Guneet produced under her banner, Sikhya Entertainment.

Monga posted about it on her Twitter account. Her post read:

We all made it happen! @RAYning @melissaberton @lisataback @StaceySher @Garrettschiff @douglasblush @mesopystic @samdavisdp and all the young girls who saw this dream from Oakwood school !! This is so EPIC !!

The short film is about a group of women who live away from the city, and how their lives change when a sanitary pad vending machine is installed in their village. The women then learn to manufacture and sell their own sanitary pads and name their brand FLY.

The other documentary shorts that are nominated are Black Sheep, End Game, Life Boat and A Night At The Garden.
