Gerald’s Game by Stephen King adaptation to stream on Netflix

The famous horror novel Gerald’s Game by Stephen King has been adapted into a film for Netflix by filmmaker Mike Flanagan of horror film Hush and Ouija: Origin of Evil fame to stream on September 29. This Netflix original stars Carla Gugino and Bruce Greenwood as the main lead, with  Henry Thomas, Carel Struycken and Kate Siegel acting as the supporting cast.

The 1992 horror novel concerns a married couple, Jessie and Gerald, and a sex game in a secluded cabin which goes awry, leaving Gerald dead and Jessie handcuffed to a bed, with no apparent means of escape. The film is shot entirely in Alabama.

In India, this novel was the inspiration for Bollywood horror film Ragini MMS – a franchise which Balaji head honcho Ekta Kapoor is all set to bring to the digital medium with a web series to stream on AltBalaji. Riya Sen will star in this series titled ‘Ragini MMS 2.2’.
