Farhan Akhtar was quite quotable at the launch of ‘Inside Edge’, the web series that’ will hit Amazon Prime soon. During the interaction, the media asked Farhan whether they would see him on the streaming screens as an actor. Farhan quipped that only the Indian version of Spiderman would have him come on-screen on the streaming scene.

That’s not a bad idea, actually. The Superhero genre is one of the most popular when it comes to web series, with Netflix ruling the roose with ‘Daredevil’, ‘Jessica Jones’, ‘Luke Cage’, ‘Arrow’ and ‘IronFist’.  When it comes to the Indian version of Spiderman, Gotham Entertainment, the Indian arm of Marvel Comics had created a one-off Indian Spiderman, where the protagonist gets his Spidey powers after a mystic bestows him the power of a yogi. Green Goblin was also reinvented as a rakshas (demon).  The comic strip was named ‘Makdi Manav’ and created a stir back in 2004.

So, Farhan’s dreams aren’t quite that unachievable or out of question.
