Till date, the most popular campaign against gender violence is ‘Bell Bajao’ (Ring the Bell), a Breakthrough Media concept that was supported by the Government. That became an iconic and much loved campaign. Unfortunately, it is the only memorable one about gender violence. That will change if Farhan Akthar has his way.

The actor has now started an initiative, where the college youth will make short films – two minutes – about gender violence and gender equality.  The students can send their entries till August 24th and then be judged by a jury.  The campaign is launched by the Population Foundation of India (PFI) in collaboration with film director Feroz Abbaz Khan and MARD.

The winners of the contest will be announced on 2 October.
