The Duncan Jones directorial Mute will soon come on Netflix. The trailer for the sci-fi romance dropped on YouTube and the product looks beautiful. As is usual now, Netflix has pulled all stops financially to bring a visually stunning experience to the streaming screens. Duncan Jones has earned his sci-fi stripes with films like Moon. He has said that Mute is a spiritual sequel to the 2009 sci-fi film that’s earned him accolades.

Mute is about a vocal impaired bartender who’s searching for his mysterious lover in what seems to be a futuristic world. The film is based 40 years from the current scenario of Berlin.  Mute has been in developmental hell since a while. Jones had earlier directed Warcraft, the film based on the immensely popular MMORPG.

Mute joins Netflix’s growing list of edgy content that has horror, sci-fi and a bit of fantasy in the list.

Mute stars Alexander Skarsgard, Paul Rdd, Justin Theroux, Seyneb Saleh, Nikki Lamborn, Ulf Hermann, Flornece Kasumba, Gilbert Owuor, Daniel Fathers, Noel Clarke, Robert Sheehan and Anja Karmanski.

Stuart Fenegan produces and music is by Clint Mansell. The series will release on 23 February 2018 on Netflix.
