India is home to several languages and dialects and Dakhani is one of them. This language is predominantly found in the Deccan area and is one of the dying languages. However, historians say that Dakhani poetry was full of humour and satire and gave the people of India weapon to wield against all the issues like unemployment and poverty. Now, a feature documentary, A Tongue Untied is on its way. The documentary traces the origins of Dakhani and informs an audience about some of the best poets and authors who used this language.
