Dear White People is one of the most popular series on Netflix. The satire-comedy is based on the 2014 film of the same name. The first season wrapped up in 2017 and the second season will now stream on May 4.
The series is about a group of Black students who face racism and disparity on campus. It stars Logan Browning, Brandon Bell, DeRon Horton, Antoniette Roberston, John Patrick Amedori, Marque Richardson, Ashley Blaine Featherson and Giancarlo Esposito. Along with this, about ten other actors play recurring characters, making this one of the biggest casts in a Netflix series.
Dear White People has had its fair share of controversy. When it first launched, it faced backlash from the White community. The trailer had more dislikes than likes, which the show director attributed to the discrimination that Black people face in the country.
