The Late night legend David Letterman has signed a deal to host six episode of a Netflix program premiering early next year. The currently-under wraps series will feature in-depth conversations with extraordinary people, which David will choose. Each webisode will be an hour long.
Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer, Netflix said in a media interaction that the show will have David interview people ‘out from behind the desk’. David’s Worldwide Pants is co-producing the project along with RadicalMedia.
David is well known for hosting late night programs on NBC and CBS for 33 years. He has stayed out of the limelight since leaving the Late Show on CBS in 2015.
This seems to be a classic case of ‘Old wine in a new bottle’, only that the wine (David) will surely adapt itself to the new environment (read digital audiences).
