Diandra Soares has scorched the ramp, the telly and the streaming world. She was part of the well-received web series Love, Life & Screw Ups. TheDigitalHash caught up with her on the sets of Streaming Calendar ’18 and had a quick chat with her. Here’s the transcript:

How did Love, Life and Screw Ups happen to you?

I was asked for an English web series, it was a very interesting character. To be honest, I didn’t want to do it. It was pure accident. When I was younger, I used to look what people in India consider normal, I refused some very big films.  I call myself an accidental actress.  These things fell into place one after the other and that’s how Love, Life and Screw Ups happened too.

Do you think the LGBTQ community has been portrayed in a bad light in Bollywood?

They have been. But there are many short films and films that are portraying the real deal and pushing the envelope. It is getting better. We still have a long way to go.

What do you think about the world of web streaming?

That’s where everything is, to be honest. Everything is on the internet and moving at that fast a pace. The millennial crowd is all about watching streaming content. It’s only going to pick up more pace.

Who’s the one actor you’d like to share screen space with?

I’d love to work with Ranveer Singh. There are so many people, it’s difficult to name just one.

What’s your suggestion for young actors and actresses trying for the big break in films?

The fashion and acting industry are the most sought after. People need to be realistic about their plus points and what their negative points are. You should be honest about your qualities. There are a lot of factors, you must work hard. But you should never stop – try and keep going for it.

It’s always interesting to get insights into any industry from people who know the industry well and Diandra surely knows her stuff. We wish her all the success!
