Vicky Jewson is known for her action packed, female protagonist-based films and she’s back with Close. The Netflix Original is about a strange friendship that a female security expert strikes with her client – a heiress. The trailer is action packed and seems like just a taste of what the audience will have in store.

Noomi Rapace, who plays the female protagonist is most well known for her role as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, followed by the films The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest. Those films winded down in 2009 but Noomi’s fans now have a chance to see her kick can once again in the Netflix Original Close.

With his project, it’s clear that Netflix is looking to add some action to their inventory. The streaming giant has already announced the second season of Punisher, so the action quotient is on the increase on the streaming platform. It’s also interesting to see that Netflix is firmly behind woman directed action flicks. Earlier, Patty Jenkins did a great job of bringing the superhero Wonder Woman to screens. In the early 2000s, Lexi Alexander got the Punisher: War Zone to audiences to critical acclaim for the action sequences.
