Netflix is looking at stand up comedy to become a better content streaming service than it already is. Since last year, it has also included talk shows and stand up comedy. Chris Rock’s new stand up show on Netflix, Tambourine just hit the streaming screens and here’s our complete review.

Stand Up comedy is a great way to get a point across, interact with a live audience and basically become more human in the eyes of an audience. Chris Rock, who separated recently and accepted his infidelity does exactly that with a long monologue – that doesn’t feel like one.

What’s Wow: Chris Rock’s script has a smattering of jokes and keeps the audience engaged. It’s good to see that he took this opportunity to make a clean slate about everything that he’s accused of. This is a warm, quirky stand up video from a man who’s undergone it all – and all while living in America.

Chris begins with talking about racism that Black people in America face and then goes on to talk about how he was raised and takes digs at the education system. While doing all this, he paints a poignant picture of the ups and downs that he has faced as a celebrity and a man undergoing divorce proceedings.

What’s Blah: Nothing

Parting Shot: Chris Rock’s Tambourine is a great outing for him on the streaming platforms.
