Amazon Prime dropped the trailer for Britannia, their first collaboration with Sky, which will be shown in the US on Sky Atlantic and Amazon Prime Video in the US. The series is set in AD 43 and talks about Rome’s conquest of the Celts in the British Isle. The series talks about the invasion led by Aulus Plautius.
The trailer for the ten-part series promises some great action scenes and enough drama to keep the audience hooked. Amazon is putting some big money into medieval fantasy and historical incidents. They are already working on creating the web series based off from The Lord of the Rings.
Rick McCallum produces Britannia, and the executive producers are James Richardson, Pippa Harris, Nicolas Brown and Anne Thomopoulos. Susan Tully, Luke Watson, Sheree Folkson and Christopher Shrewe the series that stars David Morrissey, Kelly Reilly, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Liana Cornell, Gershwyn Eustache, Mackenzie Crook and others.
The writers behind the show are Jez and Tom Butterworth, James Richardson and Richard McBrein. This series will stream on Amazon Prime come January 26. Watch the trailer here:
