Saudi Authorities bully Netflix into bringing down an episode that discusses the Jamal Khassogi murder.

It was to happen – and it did happen. The hard-talking, fact-bearing, quick-wittered Hasan Minhaj show, Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj has suffered its first body blow. According to reports, Netflix has cowed down and decided not to air an episode of the series in Saudi Arabia. The episode was about the brutal killing of Jamal Khassogi and according to the country’s Communication and Information Technology Commission, falls foul of their cyber crime laws.

In a statement, Netflix has said that they support artistic freedom and have removed the episode because they received a valid, legal request. They also said that they removed the episode because they wanted to comply with local law.

While the episode has been pulled off the Saudi Arabian Netflix list, it is available all over the world and is still available in Saudi Arabia on YouTube. Hasan Minhaj has been instrumental in creating the eye-opener of a series that talks about several pop culture aspects, including how the Supreme brand has become such a big business proposition.
