We bring to you a list of all the films on the major streaming platforms that will take care of your weekend, even the lazy one.

This week has a good collection of action, drama and horror to keep bingewatchers busy. Netflix and Amazon have both launched a slew of films over the past week. While both their lists are not as impressive as last week. There’s still some great material available.

2015’s big summer film Pixels is out on Netflix. The film tanked at the box office but was one of the most spoken about films when it released. The live animation film had a fun premise, video game players were hired by the Army to ward off an alien invasion. Though panned, the film has some cool effects and sequences. Game nerds should watch this one. The film is cool, with it references to all the games that we have grown up with, like Arkanoid, Galaga, et al.

Naam Shabana:

India’s first spin-off gets a streaming home over at Netflix. Featuring Tapsee Pannu in an intense role, Naam Shabana is the other movie credited for starting the woman’s movement in films – the first one being Pink. Watch this espionage thriller for some great action sequences, a crisp and gripping storyline and Tapsee’s performance. Akshay Kumar does a cameo.

Jason Bourne:

But very few can do espionage as good as Jason Bourne.  This 2016 film is the continuation of the epic character’s fight against the establishment, the bad guys and everyone who doesn’t see the world his way. Make way for some great action sequences and Tommy Lee Jones.

Qarib Qarib Single:

Irrfan Khan is back on Netflix with Qarib Qarib Single, a bitter sweet romantic comedy that was Parvathy’s Bollywood debut. The film won praise for Parvathy’s performance and a unique storyline.

Beyond the Clouds:

Ishaan Khatter made his Bollywood debut with Dhadak, but before that, he starred in the gritty drama Beyond the Clouds.  The film created a buzz because of the names attached to it, it was directed by Majidi Majidi for Zee Studios. The film is a grown-up version of Majidi’s 1997 drama Children of Heaven.

Amazon Prime

Rush Hour 3:

The third part in the hit franchise brings Chris Rock and Jackie Chan back as detectives trying to right a wrong in the world. The third part has the same hilarity and the action sequences that the franchise is well known for.

Vivek Agnihotri’s erotic thriller, Zid, gets a home on Amazon Prime. Written by Anubhav Sinha, it stars Karanvir Sharma, Mannara Chopra, Shraddha Das, Seerat Kapoor and music is by Sharib Toshi. It’s an erotic film and it’s a thriller – so you know what this one is about.

Jennifer Lawrence’s polarising horror flick Mother! comes on Amazon Prime. The film opened to great reviews, praising the performances, the script and the storyline. Some audiences didn’t like the twists and turns, but this is modern horror at its best. Jennifer Lawrence gives a gripping performance and Javier Bardem impresses.

True Story:

A great film inspired from a weird real life incident, this film has everything going for itself. A murderer is caught living with a stolen identity – that of a journalist who’s recently disgraced.  Watch out for great performances by Johan Hill and James Franco.

These are our binge watching films for this week. Happy Binging!
