Arshad Warsi has been out away from the limelight for a while, but the talented actor is all set to return – only this time, he will be coming to the streaming platforms. The Munnabhai MBBS star will make his web series debut with Asura, a psychological thriller, where he plays Dhananjay Rajpoot, a forensic expert with the CBI. The series will pit forensic science with the mystical Benaras. Monica Shergill, Content Head of Voot, confirmed the news and said that she was sure that a powerhouse performer like Arshad will take the story to another level.

The series will be available on Voot, the digital arm of Viacom 18. The app is available for iOS and Android users. It is the digital destination for several mainstream channels like MTV, Nickelodeon and Colors.  It also streams content in Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Gujrati and Tamil.

While Arshad is known for his light-hearted performances in films like Munnabhai MBBS and Dhamaal, he was the protagonist of the critically acclaimed Sehar, where he played a police officer in rural India in the late 90s. Critics consider it one of the more well-made cop and crime dramas.
