Ankith Koyya won recognition at this year’s Simma (South Indian International Movie Awards) when he won the award for the best supporting actor for the short film Yedhane Vadili Vellipomake.  The 22-year-old started his career in an ad for OLX. His first experience facing the camera was at the dramatics club, Faces, at the Gitam University, where he was pursuing his B.Tech.  From there, various avenues opened up for Ankith. He participated in IIT Kharagpur’s cultural festival, where his monologue of Julius Caesar was appreciated. One of the judges offered him a course in Bangalore and that was where he learnt the skills of the trade, namely, acting.

He got his opportunity to work in the OLX ad via a Facebook post of the casting director Praveena Subbalakshmi Malisetty and it was only after that he was approached for the 42-minute short film Yedhane Vadili Vellipomake.
