Amy Ryan is part of Lost Girls, replaces Sarah Paulson

Netflix will bring to streaming screens another true crime story, Lost Girls. The documentary is one of the first to openly move from Amazon Studios to Netflix. In its Amazon avatar, the documentary would have starred Sarah Paulson.

According to reports, the story is of a mother who searches for her missing daughter and in the process, uncovers the murders of young female sex workers somewhere in South Shore area of Long Island.

Michael Werwie is taking script writing duties while Amy Nauiokas and Rory Koslow will executive produce. Liz Garbus is directing this project. Liz is most well known for her Oscar nominated Netflix Original What Happened, Miss Simone. Ryan won an Oscar nomination for the film Gone Baby Gone.

Netflix has been bringing some of the best crime-based series and films on their streaming platform to great success. It recently debuted Safe, the web series that told the story of a father looking for his missing daughter in a gated community. Other than that, Netflix has brought some great crime dramas to the streaming platforms too. It is will be interesting to see how this one pans out for the Big N.
