If you don’t know Amruta Fadnavis, you are excused. Amruta Fadnavis is a little-known name outside political circles. She is wife Mrs. Chief Minister of Mumbai, Devendra Fadnavis. Why are we covering her? Because she’s come up with a tacky put together song, Mumbai River Anthem that’s purportedly made to support the rivers in Mumbai. That’s correct, we have about four rivers in Mumbai – Poisar, Dahisar, Oshiwara and Mithi.

The song starts with Amruta, decked in clothes and jewellery that’d be worth half the yearly groceries budget of a middle-class Mumbai, reading about river rejuvenation, even as some tiny tots scribble something about rivers and mountains and all that. And then, the video goes on location, with various people from Mumbai telling the viewers that Mumbai should save its rivers. There’s Devendra Phadnavis, and several other political personalities.

The video has the opposition fuming, with political parties like AAP asking how the shoot was held in what’s basically government property. Also, several police officers and political personalities just used as props – making us wonder why the video exists.

For those who didn’t know, Amruta Fadnavis has an ambition to be a singer, and that’s backed by T-Series. In 2017, she made another embarrassing video that somehow had Amitabh Bachchan in it. You can watch that video here, and #autotunekibaatnahinkarneka
