Nearly half of Bollywood is spilling into the web series space, and now the Shahenshah himself is talking of this ‘talk of the town’. Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has said that a web series on the late Shiv Sena founder-president Bal Thackeray will do justice to this memory.
The Bollywood star was speaking about a new Bollywood movie Thackeray, set to release on January 23, 2019 in Hindi and Marathi. The film has Nawazuddin Siddiqui essaying the central character in this film directed by Abhijit Panse, written by Sanjay Raut.
Amitabh went on to say that a magnanimous personality like the late Thackeray can’t be portrayed well in a three hour film. His life merits itself into a more elaborated cinematic experience like a web series, to capture the various phases of his life and personality. Interestingly, the Shahenshah himself made it to our list of ‘Biopics we would like to see’.
Here’s hoping that Anurag Kashyap (working on Netflix’s Sacred Games), Kabir Khan (Amazon Prime Video’s The Unforgotten Army), and the likes are listening to Amitabh’s golden words.
