Amazon Prime Video is bringing to its audiences The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, the web series is about a young woman who opts for stand-up comedy as a profession back in the 1940s. The series stars Rachel Brosnahan, Tony Shalhoub, Alex Borstein, Marin Hinkle, Michael Zegen, Kevin Pollak. Amazon Prime has announced the second season and given out the synopsis:
After Midge’s triumph at the Gaslight, the fallout from her takedown of Sophie Lennon looms large, making her climb up the comedy ladder more challenging than ever. As the actual grind of being a comic begins to take its toll on Midge, the pressure to come clean to her family weighs on her – especially as her choices have a ripple effect on everyone around her.
Amy Sherman-Palladino is the creator and the executive producer, along with Daniel Palladino, who is also the executive producer. The first season of the web series opened to lukewarm reviews. It’s interesting that the series will have a second season on Amazon Prime. The series streams on December 5. Watch the trailer here:
