Panchayat, available on Amazon Prime Video is the only non-crime series in the top eight on the poll

In a recent poll conducted by BookMyShow Buzz, readers have chosen Amazon Original Series The Family Man as the best Indian web series by readers. The poll reiterates Amazon Prime Video as a viewer favourite with four of the top five ranked shows belonging to the service.

The poll featured 16 of the most popular Indian series that released on or before June 30, 2020. A total of 3,820 votes were received of which The Family Man emerged a clear winner, shortly followed by Amazon Original Series Paatal Lok and Mirzapur. The result also indicates that crime is the most-preferred genre across streaming services, with crime dramas performing considerably better than other shows. The only one non-crime genre featured in the top eight results is Panchayat, available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
