Amazon Prime has a great inventory of entertainment content both Hindi and regional. And while it is adding to Hindi content on an almost weekly basis, the company will now look at adding their regional content too. Amazon Prime already has beaten Netflix to adding regional language and specifically Southern languages content and the way further for the streaming channel is more.
Vijay Subramaniam, director and head of content, Amazon Prime Video, India, said that Amazon has content in five regional languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi and Hindi and will soon increase the content offering in other regional languages as well. The channel announced that they will launching their second Tamil web series sometime at the end of the year.
Amazon Prime is working hard to make a grasp in the Indian streaming scene. It brought out the first Indian made web series, Inside Edge, and a second season for the web series is already in talks. Other than that, Amazon Prime also released Breathe, starring Madhavan and Amit Sadh.
