Amazon Prime has bagged the rights to stream their first French language show, The Black Spot. The deal allows Amazon Prime to stream the series everywhere other than the regions of Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxemburg. Thierry Poiraud and Julien Despaux direct this series, created by Mathieu Misoffe. The series takes place in a small village set in the middle of a huge forest, where a cop investigates a crime that leads her to details about her own abduction.
This is another step in the horizontal evolution that Amazon Prime is doing with its content. Amazon Prime has been working on getting reality TV and sports broadcast on to their platform and signing up with sports companies. You can read our previous articles about that here.
