Amazon India is on a music addition spree for sure. It has another music deal to present its subscribers. Amazon India has signed a content deal with Sony Music for its upcoming music streaming service Prime Music.
TheDigitalHash.com has already reported about Amazon’s tie-up with Zee Music. Post that deal, Prime Music library had about 450 film soundtracks in Hindi & regional languages like Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Punjabi, Bengali etc. Not just that it will also have 250 independent artists whose IPs are owned by Zee along with other Indian and International songs.
The Sony deal will give Prime Music users access to Sony’s International and Indian music catalog, which includes artists as varied as Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Camila Cabello, The Chainsmokers, Martin Garrix, Pharrell Williams, Indian artists like AR Rahman (Vande Mataram, Infinite Love), Jagjit Singh, Gulzar (Marasim & Koi Baat Chale), Lucky Ali, Colonial Cousins, Instant Karma, Darshan Raval, Arjun Kanungo, Harrdy Sandhu, Badshah and many others. The users can also enjoy all upcoming releases from Sony Music in 2018.
The ad-free music service, which will be available to Amazon Prime subscribers at no additional cost, is currently available to Echo customers in India on a preview basis.
On the content front, Amazon has much to be ‘content’ with (we definitely intend the pun). It’s most recent release, Breathe starring R Madhavan, Sapna Pabbi and Amit Sadh got rave reviews. You can read TheDigitalHash.com review here.
Apart from that, season 2 of Inside Edge will also be streaming sometime in 2018. Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be part of Amazon Prime series McMafia based on the book McMafia: A Journey Through The Global Criminal Underworld.
