Amazon Music launches in India on iOS, Android, web platforms

The wait is finally over. TheDigitalHash.com has been reporting about how Amazon Prime has been singing content deals with entities in the music world.

It has now finally launched Amazon Music in India which will be available on across iOS, Android and the web platform. It is part of Amazon Prime membership which is priced at Rs 999 per year and also gives access to Amazon’s video content.

TheDigitalHash.com has already reported that Amazon India signed content deals with Sony Music, Saregama, Zee Music Company and Tips. Prior to this launch, the ad-free music service was available to Echo customers in India on a preview basis.

Amazon Prime paid members can access music from different languages which include English, Hindi, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Bengali, Gujarati and Rajasthani.

The music service also offers the option of offline music download and Alexa voice support to search music through voice command.

On the content front, Amazon Prime will be streaming The Remix, a 10 webisode reality series which will have the contestants explore different themes like ambient sounds, retro remixes, live instrumentation, sounds of India, global beats. Singer Sunidhi Chauhan, music director Amit Trivdei and DJ Nucleya are the judges on the show set to stream on March 9.
