Days after Airtel launched its Internet TV, Amazon has come up with the Amazon Fire Stick, a standalone device that will allow users with older TVs to stream online content. The Fire Stick is a direct competitor to Google Chromecast. The Fire Stick TV runs a MediaTek Quad-core processor of 1.3GHz. It has 1GB RAM and Mali450 graphics. There is 8GB internal storage, used for apps and caching data. These specifications will be able to handle 720p and 1080p HD video content streaming.
The Indian version allows users to stream Hotstar, Netflix and of course, Amazon Prime. It is now available in India via the Amazon website for 3,999 INR. The streaming giant has already struck deals with the likes of Gaana, and has some goodies available for its users. The price point in itself is cheap and beats its competition out of the water.
All this is definitely good times for the Indian streamer.
