We at, The Digital Hash, know how excited you were to watch what happens to Monroe Stahr after the chest pain in the last scene of The Last Tycoon. But it is official. Amazon Prime Video has cancelled The Last Tycoon.

Said to be an expensive affair for Amazon, the nine episode series set in 1930s was based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s unfinished drama. It focused on the workings of a Hollywood studio, and featured Matt Bomer, Kelsey Grammer and Lily Collins in key roles.

The Last Tycoon joins Z: The Beginning of Everything the most recent cancellation by Amazon Prime Video. While these cancellations are Amazon Prime Video is focusing on ‘more global concept’ and hence cancelled the series, The Last Tycoon’s popularity is surely magnanimous. So much, that we were all hung-ho about the next season of the series.

For die-hard fans deeply affected by this news, there are petitions being signed to save the series (https://www.ipetitions.com/petition/save-the-last-tycoon). Apart from that, #SaveTheLastTycoon has been created, with a hope that any other streaming service may pick up the series.

Between the two of us, we are rooting for The Last Tycoon’s renewal – our review is proof of our love for the series.
