Reading Time: 2 minutes

Flip through Facebook and you will find people either professing love, exhibiting it, or posting texts about heartbreak. We have had tons of films about the former two, but very few about the latter. If only for that, ALTBalaji’s Broken Web Series  is a fresh new concept that should cater to the Facebook, Twitter, Instagram audiences and beyond.

The series is about a man who’s lost his wife a few years ago, played by Vikrant Massey. He shows symptoms of PTSD and one day decides to change his life, which has him shift his house and live in his cousin’s house – who himself is coming off a difficult relationship with someone he regards as Psycho Ex.

What’s Wow: Vikrant Massey does a good job of bringing several aspects of modern living and the modern love stories. This is a powerhouse performance that shows the raw, unadulterated side of losing in love. On the other hand, Harleen Sethi, who plays the pscyho girlfriend, does an excellent job of portraying the female side of things.

ALTBalaji webseries are commonly criticised for being too hep and living in an ALTverse that doesn’t really connect with reality. But because of a believable screenplay and wonderful performances all around – Simran Kaur Mundi and Jatin Gulati do a great job as well – Broken but Beautiful becomes a great watch.
