The Whatashort Independent International Film Festival promises to be a great event for short film lovers. In 2017, more than 400 films from 34 countries were submitted Only 133 films made the cut. 40 of these films will be screened at the 3rd WIIFF.

In 2016, the second season of the film festival was an endeavor to give women film-makers a platform to bring out their creative ideas through the art of film-making. The festival screened films made by women directors, which were under 20 minutes and above 3 minutes. The film festival received more than 400 entries from around 40 countries.
Whatashort meet 2016 had esteemed panelists like Raza Haider, Kehkashan Tyagi and Prof. R.K Dargan.
Initiated in 2015, the festival is a base for people with unique stories to tell. In 2015, the film festival got about 500 entries from 50 countries. Whatashort has been instrumental in bringing film-makers to the fans. The Whatashort organisation has been active in other fields too.
In 2015, their event Shootout@Maitreyi encouraged students to bring out the film-maker in them. The on the spot short film competition was held at Maitreyi College, Delhi University.
The 3rd edition of the festival will be held on the 8th and 9th of July at the Instituto Cervantes, Connaught Place, New Delhi.
