The documentary about Google DeepMind’s AlphaGo algorithm is available on Netflix from January 1. The algorithm’s claim to fame has come by learning to play the ancient Chinese board game of Go to a superhuman level.
The algorithm is built by a team of researchers in London that work for an AI lab called DeepMind, which was acquired by Google in 2014. It is directed by Greg Kohs.
AlphaGo uses a Monte Carlo tree search algorithm to find its moves, learned from human and computer play.
