For the web entertainment, 2017 has been a rocking year. A major part of that awesomeness can be attributed to talented actors who took the right risks and didn’t inhibit going the extra mile for this emerging medium.
TheDigitalHash.com has listed 5 actors who made some daring digital decisions.
As Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in ALTBalaji’s Bose: Dead/Alive, Rajkummar Rao turned a lot of heads. To gaining weight to even shaving off his head, the Bollywood actor shed his inhibitions for the medium which is still at a nascent stage in India. He has surely left some big shoes for other digital actors to fill in.
This guy deserves applause for his sheer courage to attempt what Jim Carrey did in the film version, for the Netflix web series version of A Series of Unfortunate Events. The many disguises he is seen in, and being successful in not reenacting what Jim did in the film version, Neil knows how to stand out.
The Baahubali star Rana Daggubati made his digital debut with the web series – Social which was a bilingual in Hindi and Telugu. But apart from his acting, he secured his place in this list because he produced this Viu series as well. And for an actor to do that in this yet-blooming space of digital entertainment is surely commendable.
The badass cricketer in Amazon Prime Video’s first ever Indian original Inside Edge, Vayu Raghavan aka Tanuj Virwani is surely one talent that made a dashing debut. While the web series had a lot of male characters, Tanuj’s acting stood out and the actor deserves appreciation for that.
The Permanent Roommates star Sumeet Vyas came back to the streaming world with the VOOT Original – Stupid Man Smart Phone. What we really liked about this reality series, is that Sumeet’s die-hard fans enjoyed every bit of it; and that Sumeet took the risk of hosting the first ever digital reality series in India.
As more actors are joining the streaming world, we are sure we will have an even bigger list for you next year. Stay Tuned!!!
