A R Rahman comes to Amazon Prime Video with Harmony

Amazon Prime Video is all set to stream a musical show that will feature A R Rahman titled Harmony with A R Rahman set to premiere on August 15. The show will feature musicians from four parts of India namely Maharashtra, Kerala, Sikkim and Manipur.

The five episode series will feature specially curated instruments that include Rudra Veena, Mizhavu, PanthongPalith and Khuilang Eshei vocal traditions. The show will showcase Indian music’s past and future through Rahman’s eyes. The series aims to celebrate the musical diversity of the country.

Apart from this show, Rahman continues to work in Bollywood and is also busy with his music school K M College of Music and Technology. Of the talent trained in the college, some of already started their Bollywood journey.

In a media interaction, Rahman revealed that Shashwat Singh, Poorvi Koutish, Nikhita Gandhi have sung for the Bollywood film Sanju. He also commented on the new trend of having many composers work on one Bollywood album. This makes them like “motherless child”. The phenomenon he feels kills the soul of the movie album.
